Derek Westover, Owner and Operations Manager

Derek has been using goats for targeted grazing since 2011. He really enjoys using border collies to herd livestock and frequently competes with them. Because of this passion, it led him to starting a full-time targeted grazing operation.
He also trains border collies for himself and for customers. Top Goat would be nothing without their team of dogs.
Stockmanship and stewardship is very important to Derek. He values producing quality livestock and utilizing land correctly.
For fun, Derek travels with his family to dog trials and horse events with his wife, Randee, and his kids, Lydia and Mack. They are a very important part to his life. This is a family operation and you’ll often see everyone pitching in to help on projects.
